Willow Springs Golf & Country Club

Happy New Year!

Fall weather was pretty nice for a few weeks, making us think winter would skip by us, didn’t it?  Then it bottomed out to become WINTER.  It’s been cold long enough, and now that 2010 is here we are looking forward to warmer weather and seeing all of you.

Bonnie and I went to Florida in December and are hoping to go back in February.  Larry traveled to Maine recently and will be leaving for Florida for a few weeks in March.  We also have been playing ping pong Wednesday nights from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  We have been having 10 to 20 people play each week.  If you are interested, we’d love to have you join us.

During December we hosted a Christmas party for a local business.  Pictures are on the Willow Springs Facebook page.  This coming year we’d like to expand our role as hosts to banquets, showers or parties.  If we can help you out please contact Bonnie or Ken.

Free Club Fitting:      Have you ever wanted to be professionally fitted for clubs?  Mike and I have been working with the Ping representative to arrange a club fitting day.  He will be coming to the Willow some time during April.  The session is free. Proper club fitting helps the golfer to more consistently hit the shot that allows him to play his best.  If you are interested in participating, please contact us though the email or contact the pro shop.  This workshop will be available to men and women.

Couples Events: We have many outings and events for couples to enjoy at the Willow.  If you have not tried any of these, we encourage you to try one out! Some of the events are Monthly Couple Scotch Ball, Couples’ Holiday Scrambles, and Glow Golf.  We also have several couples leagues.

Monday Junior Golf begins the first Monday after school ends.  There is no charge for children of members; there is a small fee for others.  Junior Golf is open to youth between the ages of 5 and 18.  Last year we had nearly 80 kids participate.  We focus on teaching golf etiquette and skills to improve their game.  This is a great way to introduce your kids to golf and for them to have fun in the sun.  It runs for 5 weeks and ends with our Adult/Child tournament.
